How to use Visio viewer
Visio viewer opens Microsoft Visio .vsdx diagrams straight in your browser — no Visio licence, no Microsoft 365 subscription and no upload. Every page, shape and label is decoded on your own device.
Step by step
- 1Drop a .vsdx (or .vsdm / .vstx) file onto the upload area.
- 2Pick a page if the drawing has more than one.
- 3Read the diagram in the preview, or open the text outline to copy the shape labels.
- 4Download the current page as SVG if you want to edit or embed it.
What to expect
- Flowchart geometry: process boxes, decision diamonds, start/end shapes, data and document shapes, plus connector arrows.
- All shape and connector text, page names and page sizes.
- A copyable plain-text outline of every labelled shape on the page.
- Custom stencils and photo-realistic stencils are simplified to their bounding shape.
Common use cases
- Reading a process map a colleague sent when you do not own Visio.
- Checking a workflow diagram quickly on a phone or Chromebook.
- Pulling the step names out of a diagram for a document or checklist.
